This itinerary combines the best in safari and beach combinations for a family. Warm and friendly guides in Kenya will keep your children busy with entertaining tales of the wild and teach them essential bush skills.
Your tour begins in Nairobi, where you will meet your tour manager at the airport. After given time to settle and refresh, you will head to the Safari Park Hotel, where you will be offered a gourmet experience, from Italian, Japanese, Chinese to Korean cuisines for a welcome dinner. Then, you will have an overnight stay at the Tune Hotel.
You will be picked up from your hotel to tour the AFEW (African Fund for Endangered Wildlife) Nature Centre near Giraffe Manor. There, you may hand-feed the Rothschild giraffe that lives in the vicinity, and later on, you will head over for lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant.
After lunch, you will head to Wilson Airport (WIL), where you shall depart to Diani Beach at 2:00 p.m. and arrive at 3:15 p.m. You will be picked up from the airport for your stay at Afrikan Pearl. You will check-in at your ocean-facing room, refresh and relax around the hotel beach dinner at the resort.
Depart early in the morning towards the area of Kwale. Enjoy a very easy going and pleasant quad excursion through the sand with beautiful views on the way. You will have lunch in Kwale, then head in the direction of Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary. At the end of the afternoon, you will return to Diani.
You can do the following activities upon arrival:
You will take a tranquil step back in time as you dhow sail to Wasini Island. You will have lunch on Wasini Island at Charlie Claws as you step into "real" Africa, steeped in peaceful tradition. You will enjoy an exotic lunch that includes marinated fish and coconut biting, steamed crab in ginger sauce, the famous Charlie Claw's specialty, and fish fresh from the fisherman's basket.
For non-seafood meals, fresh traditional vegetable soup followed by barbecued chicken will be served. All served in traditional style with Swahili sauce, rice, and chapatti, a traditional Wasini Island celebration dish.
After the breakfast, you will depart to catch the train where you shall travel on a first class at 9:00 a.m.
This is an opportunity to appreciate the Kenyan landscape as you travel halfway across the country, as well as spot and take photos of the wildlife while crossing Tsavo Park. Arrive in Nairobi at 1:50 p.m. and transfer to the Tune Hotel to refresh as you wait to depart for home.
